Keith Cook

Keith is the Lead Guitarist for Southern Heat, born and raised in Roseland, Louisiana. He currently resides in Osyka, Mississippi, with his family. Keith is a Blues guitarist at his core, with influences such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Chuck Berry, and countless other Blues guitarist, but he has the ability to bring that feeling and passion to any genre that he plays.

Keith says that growing up, music was a huge part of his life. He says that just about everyone in his family played a musical instrument or sang and that there are many cherished memories of them all playing together. Keith joined in the fun at age 15, when he learned to play guitar. It wasn't long before he joined his brother's band, Request Denied, at age 16, and started his journey to becoming the seasoned player that he is today.

Keith spent a lot of his time in high school playing with long time friend Steven Davis, who would go on to be in several bands with him over the years. It was at that time when Keith really dug into learning from artists such as Stevie Ray, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the Allman Brothers Band. In 1997, while answering an ad in the classifieds for a guitarist and bassist, Keith met Tony. It was the beginning of a long friendship and a handful of bands that sharpened his skills and matured him musically.

Keith started a family in 2003, and he says that music went on the back burner for many years, while he focused on raising and providing for his family. Music was never far from him or his heart, but he did not belong to a steady band. That is until he joined in forming the Delta Dirt Band in 2019 and laid the groundwork for what would one day be known as Southern Heat. Keith is currently enjoying his role as lead guitarist for one of the hottest bands around. His passionate and emotion evoking style is the heart and soul of the Southern Heat.
